diaper bag

front view closes with magnetic snap
made this recently with bright and sunny yellow fabric. pattern taken from a mingled yarn titled hip mama diaper bag. very easy tutorial and as an intermediate sewist you would definitely be able to do it in a whip :)

plastic covered lining and pockets
this bag is different from the rest of the diaper bags ive made coz ive made this one with plastic lining. its nice to have a waterproof baby bag right, where the possibilities for spills are ready protected! i also added a key-fob as finding keys in a big bag would be really frustrating. maybe its a great idea to add it for my future bags.

the measurements are 13" (l) x 11.5" (h) x 5.5(w). there are 4 pockets on the interior, swivel key ring inside,  2 sides outer pockets  and 1 zippered pocket at the back.

nursing cover

everybody has their first time for everything. this is the first time im sewing a nursing cover. i made this for iza and you can check out her website at hugzkisseseveryday.  the nursing cover comes with cute buttons and several holes on the strap for adjustments. as ive never sewn, buy or use any nursing cover before, this is definitely something new and i simply just love doing it. i also inserted a hard strip in to make the fabric kinda curve at the top. it will prevent the cover from covering the baby's face while he/she's nursing. i folded it up so that they will look neat and tuck to be put in the bag and ready to go!

thats the front and back view of the nursing cover. i was a bit confused about that small pocket at the back until i was informed that it was meant to put in small hanky or pacifier :)

i made a special pouch for it as well with cute cupcake applique. love it :)

and here are the cute buttons for adjustments. arent they just so cute? enjoy looking at the pictures and there's more on flickr. have a nice day!

cloth book of felt letters

As from all the crafts that i've done so far, i should rate this as the toughest one i've ever did! its a special request of a cloth baby book of 26 felt letters. i added pictures as a compliment.

so why the toughest? well i made it all entirely by hand. yeah it does sound crazy as ive spent almost a week finishing this up! sewing through thick layers were just impossible for the machine and i dont want to break it so i have to do by hand.

after all, i guess its worth the effort. i love it and its kinda hard knowing that im making it for someone else! hope you'll like it as much as i do :) now im off making the book of numbers which is coming up pretty soon.

diaper bag 3

ive finished another diaper bag for this week. phew! i love this fabric so much and it turned into such a beautiful bag. i used up a candy stripe fabric for the pockets. i like it when the bag can stand on its own and not flop around as ive used thick interfacing and have it multiple layers. okay lovely, time to go and work on the next one !

diaper bag 2

Just wanna share some pictures of a diaper bag i did this whole week. yeah it took me a while to get it done. since the kids started school , ive been extremely busy. its still the same fabric from the first bag i did but i used different fabrics for the pockets and linings. it gets much easier the second time round. okay im off for my 3rd now. til then with more up coming pictures.

modern diaper bag

let me introduce you to another diaper bag to mark the first project done in the year 2010. i should say that this is the kinda bag that moms gonna love to carry about during their outing with their baby. its the modern diaper bag from amy butler's pattern. its a really large bag but i downsized it by 20% and took off a few inches on the pattern. the instruction requires a magnetic snap button but i substitute it with just a normal snap button. it has 4 large compartments and 2 side compartments for bottles. its well roomy for all your baby's things and the compartments will keep all your baby's stuff organize. lets just say, i totally ADORE this bag.

diaper bag

Yey! I finally get to finish the diaper bag that i started since last week. Its a custom made for Azian with lotsa pockets and two types of straps. a short strap as a large tote bag and a long strap as a sling bag. i should say its more like a convertible diaper bag! the most challenging part in doing it is the top zipper part. apart from that , its also the inner pockets with bands on it. there are two pockets in front of the bag, one large zippered compartment at the back and six inner compartments for diapers, clothing and bottles. its a nice size for daily outing or short trips with baby.

anyway, i started to 'fall in love' with it throughout the making process. i'll definitely make one for myself one day :)

little baby dress

i made this itty bitty baby dress (madebyrae pattern) for my lovely niece, Iris. its a shame she has outgrown from it even before wearing it :P i hope i'll be able to make other dresses for her in the near future.
