Craft Swap Bag for my partner

Here's what I made for my Craft Swap partner recently and it is completely Polkadots.

It's quite a large size 'tote bag' or diaper bag that she can use for her outing.

I made zipper closure to it to secure stuff from falling out.

There's also pockets on both side of the interior of the bag. 3 slots and 2 additional small slots in front.

That's the 2 additional slots I mentioned earlier.

I doubled stitched the handles and used white thread just to make it stand out :)

And last but not least the back view of the bag. Hope you enjoy looking at the pictures and I hope she likes my bag. Have a lovely weekend :)

Craft Swap - Tote Bag

Here's what I got from my craft swap partner yesterday. She made me a very cute bag :)

Lovely fabric and it can sit on its own but yet soft when it's touched.

I'm currently using it since it has been quite a while since I last use any handmade bags.

There's also a very cute charm on the zipper pull inside the bag.

That's basically my stuff when I go out. My handmade wallet , car key, my house keys + access card which attached to a fabric handmade key fob , and also my cellphone (which was not in the picture as I was using it's camera). The slot where I put my house keys fits just nicely for my galaxy s as well.

I have yet to make any handles like this for my bags but I'm looking forward to it. Beautiful and I love it!

I also received some fabrics as gift. I plan to make something for her out of it in return to say Thanks!

Thank you for the bag Rabiatul Adawiyah

Cosmo bag

This is the most gigantic bag I have ever sewn in my whole life. I didn't resized the original pattern.

The fabric goes well with the bag. Large print for large bag :)

I didn't make any pockets inside and I might do that on my next cosmo bag. I'm starting to love big bags , yeay!

New - Medium Pleated with Magnetic Flap Clutch

It has been a while since I last wrote in here and I made this new pattern clutch to welcome the 2012. It is a request from my lovely sis Nykolett who wanted a simple clutch as wedding gifts.

Throughout the pattern making process , I figured out that it is actually quite tough to get the pleates nicely 'pleated' while the flap closure not too big nor too small ; so that it fits just nice!

So I adjusted it a few times just to get it right!
Not too big but it sure fits in my wallet and cellphone. It is so sweet and girly that it made me want to keep it for myself :)

Above are some of the stuff I grab at a bazaar held at Berjaya Times Square from Sew Fabby and Rozi's Needlework booth.

Most of it are for my kids and they really love the beauties in handmade items :) . I wondered why they asked me to buy FQ until they got home and asked me to sew Barbie clothes out of it !

Anyway if you didn't catch it yesterday, you can still go today and have fun supporting handmade stuff !
Have a lovely weekend and tata for now!

tutorial - zippered handphone pouch

1. Cut out -  6" x 6 3/4" of fabric for the exterior - 1 piece
6" x 6 3/4" of fabric for the lining - 1 piece
2.5" x 12.5" of fabric for the strap - 1 piece
8 inch zipper

2. Add interfacing on the exterior , lining and strap fabric
3. Fold the fabric to make the strap to the middle crease and press
4. Fold again into half
5. Sew on both side to close it
6. Mark with a pen the middle point of the longest length for the exterior fabric

7. Place the strap that's been folded into half right in the middle where the mark is
8. Sew it in place
9. Place the zipper on the lining piece right in the middle of the longest length of the fabric
10. Lay the exterior fabric with strap sewn, on top of the zipper with right side of both fabrics facing together
11. Make sure that the zipper is unzipped
12. Start sewing from the middle and stop about an inch before the end of the fabric

13. Snip the zipper, cut the end of both fabric to make it into curve
14. Place the exterior fabric on top of the zipper again and continue sewing the curve right to the end of the fabric
15. This is how it looks like inside
16. Exterior view with one side of the zipper sewn
17. Repeat the same step for the other side with the zipper unzipped

19. Here's how it looks like when both side has been sewn
20. View from the side (inside view with zipper open - it's important to leave the zipper open as we are going to turn it out later
21. Now put the exterior pieces together as well as the lining pieces and pin in place
22. Sew across it and leave at lease 1 inch for the opening (marked line in blue)
23. Through the opening , turn the whole thing inside out
24. Stitch the opening close by hand (slip stitch) or machine (like me!)

That's it! It's done and ready for some show off :)
Alternative for the strap by using ribbon.
Good luck and Happy Sewing!
